Large glass mosaic garden stakes 2 day course £225 - August 17-18th 2024

Saturday 17th (10-4) and Sunday 18th (10-1.30)August 2024 - £225
Large garden stakes.

Suitable for intermediate level– you need to have had some glass cutting or mosaic experience

If you have some mosaic and glass cutting experience or have completed on of my other workshops, and would like to develop your skills further on a larger piece, then this is the perfect workshop for you.
We will quickly brush up on glass cutting skills as well as how to use a glass grinder. I will go over again the best ways to glue your glass on to the acrylic to avoid grout bleed, and we will look at the skills needed to glue down larger pieces of glass.
You will be provided with a precut and drilled acrylic base in the shape of a teardrop. We will spend the Saturday planning, cutting and glueing the glass on to your teardrop. There will be basic design ideas and examples available on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own ideas or we can work on one together. We will pay particular attention to how design elements work together and how best to combine colours. We will be aiming to have completed the glasswork on the teardrop by the end of the day. Small groups will enable one to one help to be available all day.

On the Sunday we will clean up the mosaiced piece and grout it. You will be taught the tricks of the trade to make this process easier. We will also attach the metal pole to your mosaic. By Sunday lunchtime you should have a beautiful piece of artwork to take home to your garden.

All materials and tools will be provided. Refreshments will also be provided.
Please bring a packed lunch and an apron.

Class size: 4

Please contact me direct if you want to book a specific date for a group of people.
